The Top Shelf: Healthy Snacks
I’m pretty tall (5’10”), so the first shelf I notice when I open the fridge is the the top shelf, and then the 2nd from the top. For this reason, I keep healthy snacks on the top shelf: apples, peanut butter, almond butter, fruit jams. Apple slices with peanut butter is one of my favorite snacks!
It’s best to keep apples in the fridge, where they will stay crispy and crunchy; leaving them on the counter will turn them to mush in no time. No mushy apples for me, thank you!
Notice the thermometer behind the apples? I keep a thermometer in my fridge to monitor the temperature. It’s good to make sure that everything is cold enough – around 38 degrees – but not so cold that it freezes your produce.
