Happy Flowers…
If you find yourself throwing together a last minute party this weekend, this is a great way to create a flower arrangement out of things you might already have on hand.
The white flowers were leftover from an arrangement I made for a friend, but you could also use something you have in your yard, or something you find in your neighborhood (I don’t recommend “borrowing” roses from your neighbors, though!). My best friend used to live in a rural area near a golf course, and there were wild cattails (see here for a pic: http://www.cattails.info/) that we used to pick and use for flower arrangements when I would visit her.
There are countless vessels you could choose in lieu of a vase as long as you are willing to think outside of the box. Here I’ve used a tomato can because I love the happy, red label. Something about it feels like a party to me, so I saved it a few months ago and have been using it to store my dried herbs. In a pinch, I took out the dried herbs and replaced them with a small juice glass filled with white flowers. I found it easier to manage the flowers in a juice glass rather than directly in the can.
This quick arrangement will add a little something extra to a last minute pizza party, an impromptu afternoon cocktail with a friend, or simply make your house feel special to you and your loved ones to enjoy over the weekend.
